Your first appointment lasts up to 2 hours and includes a detailed conversation about your health history, current concerns and what has brought you to acupuncture. This is followed by your first treatment.
Appointments are intentionally unhurried, giving us time to build a full picture of your health, wellbeing and individual needs.
Acupuncture needles are extremely fine — much thinner than the needles used for injections or blood tests. Most people experience very little discomfort, although mild sensations such as tingling, warmth or a dull ache are common during treatment.
Many people find acupuncture deeply relaxing, and some even drift off during treatment.
People respond to acupuncture in different ways. Some feel deeply relaxed, while others notice increased energy or emotional release following treatment.
Occasionally, symptoms may temporarily fluctuate before settling. Lindsay will discuss what to expect and answer any questions you may have during your appointment.

If you are currently undergoing medical treatment, it is helpful to let both your GP and your acupuncturist know so that your care can be managed appropriately.
Yes. Many people choose acupuncture alongside conventional healthcare and other treatments as part of their wider approach to wellbeing.
If you are currently receiving medical care or taking medication, Lindsay will take this into account when planning your treatment.

Loose, comfortable clothing is recommended, particularly clothing that allows easy access to the arms and legs.
Depending on the areas being treated, you may be asked to remove some clothing during your appointment. Towels and draping are always provided to ensure your comfort, dignity and privacy throughout treatment.
If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please provide at least 24 hours' notice where possible.
